Delhi University, Ministry of Ayush Ink Pact to Advance Herbal Research

The Ministry of Ayush has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Delhi to strengthen research, innovation, and the sustainable utilisation of medicinal plants in India. The collaboration aims to combine scientific expertise with traditional knowledge to promote evidence-based research, conservation, and the development of herbal resources for healthcare and industry.

Under the partnership, both institutions will work together on interdisciplinary research projects, capacity building, academic collaborations, and knowledge exchange. The MoU seeks to encourage innovation in medicinal plant cultivation, conservation strategies, phytochemical studies, quality assurance, and value-added product development. It will also facilitate training programmes, workshops, and research opportunities for students, scholars, and scientists.

The initiative is expected to support the government’s vision of promoting traditional medicine through modern scientific validation while ensuring the sustainable use of India’s rich medicinal plant biodiversity. By bringing together the expertise of the Ministry of Ayush and the University of Delhi, the collaboration aims to contribute to the growth of the Ayush sector, strengthen research infrastructure, and foster innovation that benefits healthcare, livelihoods, and environmental conservation.
