Indian Private Industry Delivers First LCA Mk1A Rear Fuselage to HAL


On 9 March 2025 in a significant milestone for India’s defense manufacturing sector, the first rear fuselage for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk1A was handed over to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) by an Indian private industry in the presence of Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh. This event marks a significant boost to India’s indigenous defense manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

This marks a major step towards strengthening indigenous defense production and boosting the participation of private enterprises in the ‘Make in India’ initiative. The LCA Mk1A is an advanced variant of the Tejas fighter jet, featuring enhanced avionics, radar systems, and improved operational capabilities.

The collaboration between HAL and private industry reflects India’s growing self-reliance in aerospace manufacturing, with the LCA program playing a crucial role in modernizing the Indian Air Force.

Speaking at the event, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh praised the contribution of private industry in strengthening India’s defense ecosystem. He highlighted that such partnerships will not only boost self-reliance but also position India as a global hub for aerospace manufacturing.
