46-meter long modular bridge inducted into Indian Army


In a significant development, the Indian Army has boosted its bridging capability by inducting 46-metre modular bridges. This advanced bridging system designed and developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and manufactured by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was officially commissioned at a ceremony held at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. Presence of Army Chief General Manoj Pandey along with officials of the Indian Army, DRDO and Defense Ministry.

The induction of these state-of-the-art modular bridges not only strengthens the operational effectiveness of the Indian Army, but also exemplifies India's commitment to the principles of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) and indigenous defense production. The 46-metre modular bridge is a testament to the collaborative efforts of DRDO and L&T, showcasing the power of Indian engineering and manufacturing capabilities. This technological advancement is set to play a vital role in enhancing the mobility and strategic capabilities of the Indian Army during various operational scenarios.
