President Confers 105 Gallantry and Distinguished Service Awards at Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026 (Phase-II)

The President of India conferred a total of 105 distinguished service awards to personnel of the Armed Forces during the Defence Investiture Ceremony 2026 (Phase-II) held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

 

The honours included 07 Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medals (SYSM), 30 Param Vishisht Seva Medals (PVSM), 12 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals (UYSM) and 56 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals (AVSM). These prestigious awards recognise exceptional leadership, distinguished service of the highest order, and outstanding devotion to duty by personnel of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force, both in peace and operational conditions.

 

The Defence Investiture Ceremony is one of the country’s highest military honours events, where distinguished service awards are presented to serving and retired personnel for their exemplary contributions to national security and defence preparedness.

 

The awards underscore the nation’s gratitude for the dedication, professionalism, and selfless service of the Armed Forces in safeguarding India’s sovereignty and strategic interests.
