150 railway and 6 metro stations get certificate for healthy food

Lakhs of people travel through railway stations every day in India. Now, 150 of these stations have been recognized for providing safe and healthy food options. This achievement has been achieved through the “Eat Right Station” certification program of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

Some of the major stations that have been certified as 'Eat Right Stations' include New Delhi, Varanasi, Kolkata, Ujjain, Ayodhya Cantt, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kozhikode, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Vadodara, Mysore City, Bhopal, Igatpuri. , Anand Vihar Terminal of Delhi and Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. of Chennai. Ramachandran Central Railways includes many stations from different states.

This initiative will not only benefit passengers but will also empower food vendors at railway stations. By following food safety and hygiene standards, they gain credibility and attract more customers, which ultimately boosts their livelihood.

Six leading metro stations across the country have also joined this effort and have been recognized as 'Eat Right Stations'. These include Noida Sector 51, Esplanade (Kolkata), IIT Kanpur, Botanical Garden (Noida) and Noida Electronic City metro stations.

FSSAI aims to expand this program to cover more railway and metro stations across the country. The goal is to ensure that every passenger, no matter where they are going, can enjoy safe and healthy food options throughout their journey. This initiative promises to make a significant contribution in promoting a healthy India for all.
